It is summer season now in Hong Kong, with its blend of intermittent rain and frequent sunshine. While this is a good time for outdoor activity, remember to keep yourself hydrated and protected from the sun. May you and your family have a calm and joyful heart during the summer time.
We also have a few activities for you to join this summer to practice with the Hong Kong Sangha.
Past Event Recap
Rain Retreat
Plum Village Hong Kong / Asian Institute of Applied Buddhism started the annual Rain Retreat on May 26, 2024. There were around 100 friends joined the Day of Mindfulness. The Director of Asian Institute of Applied Buddhism also shared the origin of the Rain Retreat and how it is still relevant today. After the dharma talk, Face-To-Face Ceremony took place where sangha members vowed to take refuge in each others in the next three months.
Zen for 1000
We had an amazing time at the Zen for 1000 event, which took place on June 8th-9th at the Chu Hai College Stadium in Hong Kong. AIAB was thankful to be a part of this meaningful gathering and had the chance to share our practices with everyone.
Here is a video on our thought on cyber-bullying that occur frequently nowaday and how it could be transformed by practicing Right Speech, one of the Noble Eightfold Path.
